The next PolBeRG seminar will take place this Friday (October 10th) at the usual time - from 17.30 to 19.00, but at a slightly different place: FT 708. The general topic of this seminar will be populism. First, Bruno will present a paper (co-authored with Levi), which looks into experimental evidence in relation to how voters would respond to populist rhetoric. The experiment looks at how different stated relationships of a candidate vis-a-vis the party leadership (challenger or not) and different natures of candidate's speeches (populist or not) relate to respondents' placements on populism scales and the likelihood to vote for the candidate. Thereafter, Levi will talk a bit about some of the more general ideas that they have been floating around with regard to the populism topic and its measurement. This is a really interesting paper also in terms of design, even if populism is not your thing. So I hope you can make it! If you want to receive the paper, please subscribe to the PolBeRG mailing list polberg@ceu.hu
