PolBeRG Seminar - Politician's use of Twitter

On Tuesday, September 29, at 19:00 in FT 809, we will have our first seminar of this academic year. Zoltan Fazekas will hold a presentation on the (little) use of Twitter by politicians, based on a paper he coauthored titled "A bad workman blames his Tweets: The consequences of citizens’ uncivil Twitter use when interacting with party candidates". They argue that politicians don't use social media to its full potential because, when they try to engage, there is a significant trolling response by users. The paper also uses very interesting machine learning text analysis tools.
